BB GLow & CC Glow
Pre & Post Care

BB Glow and CC Glow are skin session that aim to improve the appearance of the skin by providing semi-permanent makeup and skin-enhancing effects. Proper pre and post-care can help ensure the best results and minimise potential side effects. Here are pre and post-care guidelines for BB Glow and CC Glow treatments:

Pre-care for BB Glow & CC Glow:

Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a licensed and experienced skin care professional to discuss your skin concerns, goals, and suitability for the session. They will assess your skin type and condition.

Skin Assessment: Avoid using strong skincare products, retinoids, or exfoliants for at least one week before the session. These products can make your skin more sensitive and increase the risk of irritation during the procedure.

Sun Protection: Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily for at least one week before the session. Sun exposure can make your skin more prone to hyperpigmentation.

Avoid Tanning: Avoid tanning beds and excessive sun exposure for several weeks before the procedure. Tanned or sunburned skin is not ideal for BB Glow or CC Glow.

No Active Skin Conditions: Ensure you do not have any active skin infections, cold sores, or irritations. The session should be performed on healthy, intact skin.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin well-hydrated. Remove Makeup: Arrive for your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face.

Post-care for BB Glow & CC Glow:

Sun Protection: Continue using broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily for at least two weeks after the session, preferably as part of your regular skincare routine. This helps protect your skin and maintain the results.

Avoid Excessive Water: Refrain from washing your face or getting it excessively wet for 24-48 hours after the session. This allows the BB Glow or CC Glow pigment to settle into the skin.

Gentle Cleansing: When you cleanse your face, use a gentle, mild cleanser and avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants for at least one week post-session.

Moisturize: Apply a hydrating and gentle moisturiser to keep your skin well-hydrated during the healing process.

Avoid Makeup: Avoid wearing makeup for 24-48 hours post-session or as your skincare professional recommends.

Avoid Sun Exposure: To avoid sun exposure, wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors, especially during the initial healing period, to prevent hyperpigmentation.

Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or picking at the treated area, disrupting the healing process and affecting the results. Follow

Post-Treatment Instructions: Your skincare professional may provide specific post-care guidelines. Follow their instructions closely for the best results and minimise potential side effects.

Maintenance Sessions: Depending on the desired results, you may require multiple BB Glow or CC Glow sessions.

Following these guidelines can help you achieve the best possible results and maintain the longevity of your BB Glow or CC Glow.

Here are some common side effects and considerations for BB Glow and CC Glow treatments:

Common Side Effects:

  • Redness: Mild to moderate redness at the treatment site is expected immediately after the procedure. This redness typically subsides within a few hours to a day or two.

  • Swelling: Some individuals may experience slight swelling in the treated area, particularly in sensitive areas like the eyelids or lips. This swelling usually resolves on its own.

  • Tenderness: The treated area may feel tender or sensitive shortly after the procedure.

  • Peeling or Flaking: After a few days, you may notice some peeling or flaking of the treated skin. This is part of the exfoliation process and is typically mild.

  • Bruising: In some cases, bruising may occur, especially if the skin is sensitive or prone to bruising. This is usually temporary and resolves within a few days.

  • Itching: Some individuals may experience mild itching in the treated area as the skin heals. Avoid scratching to prevent complications.

  • Color Variations: There may be slight variations in colour or tone after the procedure, but these usually normalise within a few days.

Less Common Side Effects and Considerations:

  • Allergic Reactions: While rare, allergic reactions to the BB or CC Glow products can occur. It's essential to discuss any known allergies with your technician before the treatment.

  • Infection: The risk of infection is minimal, but it can occur if post-treatment care instructions are not followed. Signs of infection include redness, swelling, pain, and discharge from the treated area.

  • Pigment Migration: In some cases, pigments used in BB or CC Glow treatments may migrate from the intended area, resulting in an uneven appearance. This is more likely to happen when the procedure is not performed by a skilled technician.

  • Prolonged Redness or Irritation: In rare cases, individuals may experience prolonged redness, irritation, or discomfort that lasts longer than expected. This may be a sign of a reaction to the products used.

  • Scarring: Scarring is very rare with BB Glow and CC Glow treatments when performed correctly. However, improper technique or infection can increase the risk of scarring.

  • Recurrence of Skin Issues: While BB Glow and CC Glow can improve the appearance of the skin, some skin issues may recur over time, necessitating additional treatments.

Always consult our skincare professional or technician for personalized advice before undergoing BB Glow or CC Glow treatments.
